Flawed Standings

If you were up early enough to check the standings before church, you may have glimpsed the Rosebuds in fourth place.

That was an error.  I figured out where the error came from while sitting in my pew at church — I had loaded the entire season of Rosebud stats rather than just the May numbers. I rushed home afterward and fixed that error, generating these standings:

EFL
Team Wins Losses Pct. GB RS RA
Old Detroit Wolverines 28 16 .625 224.2 172.5
Haviland Dragons 27 17 .612 0.6 203.5 162.4
Pittsburgh Alleghenys 24 18 .565 2.8 202.6 177.8
Kaline Drive 22 22 .491 5.9 187.8 192.6
Cottage Cheese 21 22 .491 5.9 187.4 190.7
Peshastin Pears 21 21 .490 5.9 167.7 170.6
Canberra Kangaroos 20 23 .465 7 230.7 245.4
Flint Hill Tornadoes 19 25 .442 8.1 184.3 206.4
Portland Rosebuds 18 24 .428 8.5 179.5 207.6

Old Detroit: W 2, L (-1); 6 – (4). .278, .395, .444; 15 ip, 2 er.

Haviland: L, 2 – 4. .171, .310, .200; 3 ip, 1 er.

Pittsburgh: L, 2 – 8. .216, .286, .243; 25.7 ip, 13 er.

Kaline: W, 2 – 0.  .244, .279, .341; 12.3 ip, 4 er.

Cottage: L,  4 – 5. .280, .357, .360; 13 ip, 0 er.

Peshastin:  “W”, 1 – 5. .185, .207, .222; 8 ip, 3 er.

Canberra: L, (-2) – 9. .184, .200, .237; 1.3 ip, 0 er.

Flint Hill: W (-1), L 2; 0 – 5.  .135, .158, .243;  7.3 ip, 7 er

Portland:  W, 4 – (-6). .277, .306, .362;  6.3 ip, 3 er.  (Note: the pitching stat line does not show the effect of Portland getting credit, finally for about half of Chris Young’s innings, and about half of Joe Kelly’s innings, too, which erased a bunch of replacement relief innings.)

Alas — there’s still an error here. When I fixed the Rosebud problem, I cut Clay Buchholz off Cottage’s staff accidentally.  Unfortunately the database won’t let me correct the standings again. So  we’ll have to wait until tomorrow’s update so see what effect Buchholz’s banishment had on the standings.
