For Dick’s 60th birthday, several people wrote letters to him. In these letters they told stories, or said nice things about him, or both. Here is a pair of letters written by Don and Shirley Votaw. Don was Dick’s first cousin (their fathers were brothers) and they were always close friends. Don was the best man at Dick & Doree’s wedding (see photo above). Their wives (Shirley and Doree) became close friends as well. Don and Shirley were members of the bridge club, and even traveled overseas with Dick and Doree.
