MLB is so cute…

MLB is a fragile flower, almost poignant in how it clings to its simplistic models of reality.  Grantland writer Ben Lindbergh chronicled how MLB felt its grasp slipping on the space-time continuum during the 7th inning of the Toronto-Texas deciding 5th game.  And, as Dave suggested in his comment on Tom’s post, Elvis Andrus found it totally overwhelming.

So here’s another beauty of EFL membership: we get our space-time sailor’s legs. We make roster moves that occur simultaneously on three different days, often without even knowing the identity of one of the three days (the roster deadlines).   We even cancelled Aug 31st  entirely, retrospectively, and invented a new 35-day month without flinching.

As Humpty Dumpty would put it, “There’s glory for you!”
