The Return of the Cheese

Cheese management was out of town for a few days, to see its daughter graduate from nursing school, and the team seemed to thrive in its unsupervised (but not unwatched) status. Infielders Schoop, Forsythe, and Seager all seemed to have recovered from the plague of Wolveritis that had so crippled the team’s fortunes.

We are receiving daily reports on Mike Trout’s thumb, and things are looking good for an early return for our $25 million man. Danny Duffy, another resident of the high-rent district, also seems to be recovering nicely.

But we have three players who were injured in spring training, and now it appears that all three have suffered significant setbacks in their recoveries.  Will we see infielders Duffy and Bird this year, or outfielder Alex Dickerson? Maybe not. How about Drew Smyly? Maybe. And Brian Flynn has been staying off barn roofs.

How about the Dragons? Any signs of weakness yet? There have actually been a couple of days in the past two weeks where they have NOT celebrated Edgar Martinez-like hitting lines. Rare moments of hope. We live for them. And we continue our search for the REAL Zack Cosart and Ervin Santana, so we can put them back in their mediocre places and get rid of these dragon-enhanced zombie replacements.
