Why Mallex doesn’t have my number

I probably should be more open with my employees but I have never given a Wolverine my phone number.  I don’t think I could have told you why I’ve been so stand-offish.  It’s just something I’ve never been comfortable doing.

And it’s a good thing, too. According to a video I found on the Mariners’ MLB website, if Mallex Smith calls you on the phone you end up having to cook steaks from him and his 23 closest friends. That’s what he did to his other GM, Jerry DiPoto.

I can’t afford that kind of thing.  Mallex will have to stick with emails and tweets if he wants to reach me.
