So here’s Sam tackling his laundry for the first time. Life is a bit experimental here because the electricity comes and goes without warning apparently.

When the city power (called RACY – yes it’s pronounced ‘racey’) shuts off as it does randomly, a little man in a little yellow shack across the street (pictures to come) flips a switch to turn on the generator for the neighborhood. This generator power is called Molina and provides 10 amps (which is about enough to power our toaster and a few iPhones).

An historic laundry moment.

For Day 1 we think we’ve accomplished a lot. More to come.

We went to our first restaurant last night and ate like kings – three colors and types of rice, soups that pour over the rice, and some amazing meats in skewers. Samson eats anything and everything; that’s for another day.
