Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau

There are three famous peaks visible from most places in the Berner Oberland region of the Alps: Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau. Roughly translated, the names mean Ogre, Monk, and Young Lady, respectively. There is an ancient and predictable legend about the Monk protecting the Young Lady from the attentions of the Ogre, but I’ll leave that one to your imagination. We see them as incredibly beautiful mountain peaks.  All pictures were taken from Schilthorn. (Click any photo for a larger view – it’s worth it!)

This is Jungfrau, the most famous of the three well-known mountain peaks in the Swiss Alps.

Is that the jungfrau over there? I think that's the Jungfrau!

What fantastic photos so far, even if the pix I’ve seen on the internet do not do justice to what all of you are enjoying. What an amazing world we live in. Thank you for letting us all be a part of your adventure.
