Baby David with Mom, Dad, Grandma

Newborn version of me

By Dave

The date on this picture has to be October/November 1952, since I (Dave) am the baby and I was born on Oct. 18 of that year. I do not recognize the location, but I am guessing that it is my grandparents’ house on N. Bright St. in Whittier, where they lived until the following year. The best clue is the stairs going up. Our house on Hornby did not have a second floor, and neither did my grandparents’ house on Scenic Dr.

Of course the most significant thing about this photo is the reverential look on everyone’s face as they behold the wondrous baby.
