Error correction in the EFL

Dave pointed out an error on his data entry spreadsheet, carried over from last week, which left half his roster with misaligned defensive ratings (catcher in the outfield, etc).  I checked, and he was right — but the mistake dated back to Week 10 (and had been copied the next two weeks).  I also found a different mistake in week 10 where ther weekly results sheet referred to the wrong cell in the Serpahim Data Entry  Sheet — for that one week only.

I fixed those today, cutting the Salem distance to first place by more than half.  They are making a push to take over the pennant race!

See for yourself– our pennant race suddenly looks pretty exciting!

The EFL error correction system hasn’t changed since the first season:

  1. The Commissioner makes a mistake.
  2. A fellow owner finds it and points it out to the Commissioner.
  3. The Commissioner fixes the mistake.
  4. Repeat steps 1 – 4.

Several owners have, over the years, pointed out errors that, when fixed, eroded their position in the pennant race.  This makes me proud of this league.  This time Dave’s eagle eye helped his team.  I am happy to fix those errors, too.   So please, take time sometime to study your team’s spreadsheets, and how they are reflected in the standings/weekly results.  If you spot something that might be amiss, let me know.
