Tax Day is Always Patriots Day

If you have been paying attention to the Panama Papers,  you know how they’ve stirred up controversy over the use of offshore bank accounts to hide assets and avoid taxes.  Many celebrities (including sporting celebrities like Lionel Messi) and high officials (including sporting officials, if that’s what you want to call FIFA executives) have been implicated.  I hope lots of them face trial.

But I wanted to take this moment to assure you that there are no high officials in the EFL. And even if there were, none of them have any offshore accounts.

In fact, in honor of Patriots Day being the same day as Tax Day this year, the entire ownership group of the Old Detroit Wolverines is going to file its taxes this afternoon in a ceremony at the Newberg Post Office.  I am not going to tell you the exact time this will happen, since we want to avoid the papparazzi, but it will be with minutes to spare before 5:00 PDT.  (This is another reason I love living on the West Coast — that extra 3 hours to file has come in handy more than once.)

Given my commitment to being an honest, law-abiding, patriotic citizen of my country, this will not be an extensive update. I’m confident you will all understand and accept this sacrifice without complaint.
