A little June teaser

Ok, the draft is over. There may be some trades between now and Sunday’s 8pm roster deadline.  But assuming we stand pat, I thought it would be fun to see how our new rosters did on June 1 – 2.

So I asked BP.  There are some important caveats:

  1.  BP just gives total raw stats, paying no attention to allocations or replacements. So consider this at best a hint of your team’s June total resources. It’s your job to allocate to make the most of them.
  2.  It’s only June 1 and 2.  Especially with pitching it could be misleading since no one’s rotation is likely to have completely rotated.

Given these caveats, here’s what BP told me:

COTTAGE:  (2 games played in June)

Hitting: 81 PA, 24 H, 6 2b, 3 hr, 3 walks, .308, .333, .500.    

Pitching:  3 ip, 0 er, 0.00 ERA.  Plus at least 11 replacement innings. 

New Guys: Ian Happ (1 for 4, double, 2 SO), Logan Forsythe (0 for 6, 3 SO). Corey Seager (1 for 9, 2 so).

HAVILAND:  (1 game played)

Hitting: 61 PA, 25 H, 2 2b, 1 3b,  4 hr, 8 walks, .283, .377, .585.    

Pitching:  4.7  ip, 1 er, 0.93 ERA.  Plus at least 2.3 replacement innings. 

New Guys:  Alex Avila DNP;  Eric Young (2 for 8, 1 2b, 1 so).

FLINT HILL:  (2 games played)

Hitting: 35 PA, 8 H, 3 2b, 1 hr, 0 walks, .229, .229, .400.    Plus at least 21 replacement PAs.

Pitching:  6.3 ip, 1 er, 1.42 ERA.  Plus at least 7.7 replacement IP. 

New Guys: Bradley Zimmer (1 for 4, 2 so), Keon Broxton (1 for 6, 1 2b, 4 so),  K. Middleton (1.3 ip, 0 er), Archie Bradley (0.7 ip, 0 er).  Jeff Samardzija and Charlie Morton: DNP.

Hitting: 63 PA, 25 H, 6 2b, 1 3b, 4 hr, 10 walks, 1 hbp, .397, .480, .714.    

Pitching:  25.7 ip, 15 er, 5.26 ERA.  

New Guys: Kirby Yates (0.3 ip).  Richard Bleier, Kurt Suzuki: DNP.

Hitting:  89 PA, 19 H, 4 2b, 0 3b, 4 hr, 6 walks, 1 hbp, .232, .286, .427.

In truth, of course, it doesn’t mean anything. But I am so thankful for this little glimpse of what 2017 might have been.
