Mr. EFL Answer Man: Who Comes Firster on Fr.?

Dear Mr. EFL Answer Man:

I have a question:

I owe Fister $1,500,000. Flint Hill owes Fister over $4 mil. If I were to put him up for $1,750,000, for 1 year, would the money I already owe him be used for the contract, or would Flint Hill play a part in it since FH is the most recent EFL employer of Fister?
is that clear?
thanks
.
Dear Thanks:
Isn’t it unfair that we write “Mister” as “Mr.” but not “Fister” as “Fr.”? Well, I won’t have it.
.
You hired Fr. firster  back in the old McPhirston Elephante days. Then when the Elephantes went belly up in the first restart in EFL Hry.,  we cut up the carcass. Flint Hill got Fr. in the Rule 5 draft.
All that is irrelevant to your question.  I just wanted to impress you with the depth of my research. I researched so hard I have a Blr. on my Kr.
.
Fr.’s contract must have expired after the 2014 season. In 2015 you won the bidding for Fr. at $5,750,000 per year for four years — ie, through 2018.  You tired of his Sinr. slants and DFA’d him in September of 2015 — one of the firster DFAs in EFL Hry. Of course you were hoping for some Mry. MLB team to give him a new contract that would wipe out your obligation.
.
And Lo! your prayers were answered. In February of 2016, Houston signed Fr.to a one year $7,000,000 contract.  The Commissioner Adminred. a ruling at that time that the Houston contract covered the entire Rosebud obligation for 2016,  leaving you still on the hook for 2017 and 2018.
.
Later your Sr. — I realize he’s your brother, but play along with me here, OK? — drafted Fr. for the Twrs. at $4,250,000 for three years. By October your Sr. also tired of  Mr. Fr.’s Sinr. slants and DFA’d poor Mr. Fr. again. But Dress. arose about how we would allocate between the Twrs. and the Rosebuds any new money from a subsequent MLB contract.
.
We can see how that was resolved if we look at the Portland roster as printed on the website. Down in the small print at the bottom you will find the following:
.
Doug Fr. (after FH)     V   2018   1500
.
(Wow! It’s a Mry. how quiet, unassuming Doug Fr. winds his way through EFL Hry. like  a Wria. )
.
You have the biggest obligation to Mr. Fr. All the others who signed Fr. after you are in reality helping you meet your obligation. Had the Twrs. signed Fr. first,  your later bigger deal would have obliterated their obligation. Until your obligation expires, or a bigger contract comes along to obliterate it, yours is the fundamental commitment on which Fr. is entitled to rely.
.
You took the greater risk by paying more.  If you want your Sr. to take on your risk, you have to make that explicit when you Enlr. to join the crew supporting Fr.  Otherwise every penny from you or someone else applies first to your Sr. to Assr. in paying her smaller debt.
.
Is that clear?
.
You’re welcome.

  • As I was going to bed last night, I got to wondering why Mark J had asked me this question on the evening before the draft when the answer was on his own roster. Then it hit me. I had been sabotaged! An hour of my draft prep time went up in smoke while I wrote the response. He used up all my prep time ON PURPOSE!
