Old Detroit: W, 8-2; 46PA, 6.3IP
AVG: 0.262 OBP: 0.326 SLG: 0.500 OPS: 0.826
ERA: 1.43 WHIP: 0.952
Marcus Stroman pitched well – 1 run over 5.3 innings – and JP Crawford and Eloy Jimenez both homered (Eloy’s into a cornfield) to lead the Wolverines to another win, and thanks to an utter collapse from two Tornado pitchers, a lead that might be too big to overcome.

Flint Hill: 4-17; 43PA, 7.7IP
AVG: 0.243 OBP: 0.326 SLG: 0.541 OPS: 0.866
ERA: 14.03 WHIP: 2.078
Yu Darvish must be injured or he really benefited from the sticky stuff…he gave up 5 runs in 2.7 innings. German Marquez was slightly better, giving up 7 runs in 4 innings. Tim Anderson won the game for the White Sox with a walk-off corn bomb, but it wasn’t worth 18 runs, sadly.

DC: “W,” 8-8; 46PA, no pitching
AVG: 0.233 OBP: 0.500 SLG: 0.500 OPS: 1.000
The Balk didn’t get any pitching, but their hitters did a nice job of creating some runs. Pete Alonso was 3 for 7 with a double, a homerun and a stolen base over two games. Sean Murphy added two hits, one a double.

Peshastin: L, 2-5; 43PA, 1.7IP
AVG: 0.162 OBP: 0.279 SLG: 0.351 OPS: 0.630
ERA: 0.00 WHIP: 0.000
The Pears were light on pitching, though it was good, and bad on hitting, though there was plenty. Genesis Cabrera was the only pitcher to appear, tossing 1.7 scoreless innings. Ozzie Albies and Mike Zunino both homered, and WIlli Castro had two singles in 4 trips to the plate, but the team struck out 14 times.

Kaline: DNP, 6-6; 43PA, 10IP
AVG: 0.351 OBP: 0.442 SLG: 0.811 OPS: 1.253
ERA: 9.90 WHIP: 1.700
Excellent hitting a pitching that was better than some but worst than most was a good way to spend an off day, I suppose. For a team who likes to be .500, scoring 6 runs and giving up 6 runs on an off day seems fitting. Michael Conforto and Jesse Winker had over half of the teams’ hits – WInker going 3 for 4 with a double and a home run and Conforto going 4 for 6 with a double. Aaron Judge hit two home runs into the corn. Mitch Moreland hit two home runs into the Cleveland night.

Haviland: DNP, 2-2; 27PA, 4.3IP
AVG: 0.333 OBP: 0.370 SLG: 0.500 OPS: 0.870
ERA: 10.47 WHIP: 1.860
The Dragon hitters were on, the Dragon pitchers were off. Jake Cronenworth was 3 for 4 with a triple, and Jose Iglesias was 2 for 4 with a double. Five relivievers appeared, and 4 of them were great. Justin Gaza was not. He gave up 4 runs without getting an out. Oops.

Cottage: W, 2-(-2); 39PA, 10IP
AVG: 0.222 OBP: 0.282 SLG: 0.361 OPS: 0.643
ERA: 1.80 WHIP: 0.900
Pitching won the day for the Cheese. Michael Fulmer, spring off the bench right before the game, tossed 2 scoreless innings, as did Collin McHugh. Shohei tossed 6 innings, giving up only 2 runs, and he also hit a double. Brandon Nimmo hit a homerun, and Kevin Newman was 2 for 4 with a double.

Pittsburgh: L, 3-5; 28PA, 14.3IP
AVG: 0.269 OBP: 0.321 SLG: 0.308 OPS: 0.629
ERA: 4.41 WHIP: 1.399
Kyle Muller undid great work by two other pitchers – Logan Webb and Vlad, Gr. (get it?) combined for 12 innings pitched and one run – but Muller allowed 6 runs in 2.3 innings. Dominic Smith and Dansby Swanson both collected two hits apiece.

Canberra: W, 8-3; 38PA, 5.3IP
AVG: 0.333 OBP: 0.395 SLG: 0.545 OPS: 0.940
ERA: 0.00 WHIP: 0.943
A great day from both sides of the ball led to a solid win. JD Davis and Carter Kieboom each had 3 hits, and Wander Franco hit a home run. Caleb Smith did all of the pitching damage, not giving up an earned run in over 5 innings pitched.

Bellingham: W, 8-3; 23PA, 2IP
AVG: 0.333 OBP: 0.478 SLG: 0.778 OPS: 1.256
ERA: 0.00 WHIP: 0.000
Excellent hitting from Jonathan India (NL ROY???), who went 2 for 4 with a double and a home run, was the main catalyst for the win. Kyle Farmer hit a home run (not into corn, though that would have been apropos), and the team had more walks (5) than strikeouts (3). AJ Minter tossed 2 scoreless innings.

Portland: W, 12-6;
AVG: 0.438 OBP: 0.471 SLG: 1.000 OPS: 1.471
ERA: 9.00 WHIP: 2.500
A great, and I mean great, day at the plate led the way for the Rosebuds. Luis Urias (Ron will love this), went 5 for 6 with 3 doubles and 2 home runs! Only two other hitters got a hit, so the win truly was due to Urias.
