Week 11 is Over! (good riddance)

Week 11 was really tough on some MLB teams.

The Cubs got outscored 67 – 19.  The Tigers got pummeled 37 – 10.  The Nationals lost 47 – 21.

But their misery was at least partly compensated by the pleasure gained by EFL teams playing them this week: the Drive, Dragons, and Tornados. Kaline built its boost from playing weak MLB opponents to .111 points, transforming its raw season winning percentage from .413 to .524.   Flint Hill’s opposition boosted it’s weak opponent bonus to .051 on the season.    Haviland, still laboring under the heaviest handicap due to its unlucky matchups, got some relief, bringing its handicap down to .111.

But Haviland still has the best raw record (by a margin of .707 to .672 over the Wolverines), while still languishing in 5th place.  The Dragons look to the Hill(s), whence no help comes.

The Wolverines are struggling, their injury-riddled pitching providing not quite half the innings needed for 6 games.  A bunch of Wolverine batsmen battered the ball extra badly, but it was barely enough to avoid being run over by the Balk.

The Tornados scampered just enough to sneak ahead of the Dragons by 0.1 games.  The Kangaroos   did the same to the Drive. The Pears dropped behind the Cascades, and barely avoided dropping behind the Rosebuds, too.  The Buds will not be in 10th place a week from now, not the way they’re playing.

Allocation changes are due on your June Allocation sheet before games begin on Saturday.  (Note: those sheets still have May – June 3 stats on them.  Use your Data entry sheet to see this week’s stats.).  If you use the June Allocation sheet you can make as many changes as you want.

Today (Friday’s) games will be the first for Week 12.

  • MLBTraderumors tried to cheer up Walker Buehler fans today.

“It’s not clear whether he’ll have enough time to build up as a prototypical starter for the stretch run, but if all goes as planned, he should be available as a postseason weapon.”

    Yippee. A postseason weapon.
