League Updates

A small gesture of angelic kindness

I don’t have time now for a long update, but here, at least, are the standings as of this morning.

Special thanks go out to our Seraphim overlords for having a mediocre day, for once, so the rest of us can look up with just a glimmer of hope.   There was nothing wrong with the Seraphic hitters (.312, .365, .458) — it’s not up to recent Salem standards, but championship teams will average that .824 OPS.

The slack Salem cut us was on the pitching side: 11.7 ip, 9 er for a 6.91 ERA.  All three Seraphic starters sucked. Most notable, maybe, was Jameson Taillon, who pitched 2 innings, giving up 2 earned runs, but had to come out of the game after being drilled by a line-drive comebacker (as in the photo above). The Seraphim have lost the services of Tony Gonsolin. If Taillon has to miss a start, Salem is down to only 6 or 7 healthy starting pitchers.  Oh the humanity!! Or, rather, the Seraphinity!

This will probably not keep happening, so if we want to revive our pennant race, we’re going to have to earn it.
